She was born in 1967 and graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 1988. For more than 30 years, she has been involved in the establishment of legal and mediation units and systems, the follow-up and coordination of business, litigation and arbitration processes in national and international fields, the preparation of contracts and execution of negotiations, managing and coordinating mediation processes from beginning to end as a party advocate or mediator and has provided legal advice and advocacy services in general company/group companies operating in many fields, especially Mining, Construction, Tourism and Defense Industry Sector.
Ünal has received training on Energy Law, Public Procurement Law, Turkish Commercial Code, EU Projects Management, Expertise, Commercial Contracts, Import and Export Practices, Trademark Attorney, Patent Attorney, Concordat Commissary, Mediation, Advanced Mediation as well as attended National and International seminars on mediation. In addition, she has served a member of the Central Executive Committee of Human Rights, Refugee Law, Working Group Property Law Working Group, Project Working Group in the Union of Turkish Bar Associations as well as board memberships to Human Rights Center and as a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of Mediation. She has actively participated in the Editorial Board of Ankara Bar Association, CMUK Commission and Consumer Commissions. She served as a founding member, chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Düşünce Kooperatifi (Thought Cooperative) and a founding member, honorary member, vice chairman, and chairman of the Disciplinary Board of Aydos Foundation. In addition to these, she is a member of the organizing boards of mediation central workshops, a member of the central organization and the legislative working committee, a member of the mediation ethics committee, and a member of the mediation associations working groups.
Regarding the legislation in the field of mediation, she participated in the studies carried out both in the sub-boards of Grand National Assembly of Turkey and in the general assemblies and participated in the mediation regulation studies. Ünal provides basic and advanced mediation training and is also the coordinator of Party Advocate Training initiated by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. She is still registered with the Ministry of Justice Mediation registry with registry number 7498 and continues to actively mediate in addition to being a lawyer.
